tennis lesson #1

i have to admit i was kinda nervous about the tennis lesson...like who's teaching? how many students and whether i will be able to catch up...
thankfully, the 2 coaches were really good.. i was shocked when i first saw han qin... he looked so young, i taught he was there to learn too... he was the thin and fit kind of guy... then he introduced us to the lines on the court... next came coach cheng (i think is this spelling). he's quite humorous...
the lesson was alrite... except i couldn't really do the bounce the ball on the tennis face thing... the warm-up session was also quite easy to manage....
we learn mainly the forehand thingy...
it's quite tiring for my wrist... cos they din really told us we could us both our hands...
the 2 coaches were quite encouraging... like hq, who said i could swing the racket well... but then, i think he said that to all of us....
anyway, so far so good... i can't wait for the next lesson....

the final showdown

Haix... soon, the first singapore idol will be crowned...Taufik or Sylvester? Seriously, i dun give a damn... cos, personally to me, i feel that both are not up to my standard... ok fine, i noe, who cares about me.... But really! their singing are juz so-so... (i noe i can't sing better than them).. Fans of both of the finalists, please dun get too pissed.. these are juz MY comments...
Taufk is really sweet and nice looking... straight teeth, nice eyes... that's it... i dun watch the show frequently, only the short recaps... but by viewing those, i feel that taufik can only sing as a guy, not as an idol...
Perhaps i'm not too sure about the true definition of Idol... a person who can sing? can impress the audience? can inspire the others? looks good? or issit a combination of all of the above? of course it's the last one... but can either of the finalist do those... to me, NO.
Sly is the rocker.. so-called... i agree he's got that voice of a rocker... but it's not enuf... his smile doesn't even look appealing...
i have no freaking idea what all the young ppls out there are crazy over them... Are they really bored to tears? or are they juz following the youngsters of the other nations?
okay, i have to admit when they first came up with this singapore idol thing, i was like the rest of the nation... 'singapore got talent meh???' so fine, i'm wrong... yes, there are ppls out there who can sing... but i feel that they juz are not up to standard...
by standard... it will be something more powerful... stronger... as in their vocal cords.. the songs that they sing.. are juz so simple for them... it's like, if i were to watch AI and hear latoya or even fantasia sing, i can feel 'it' .. i dunno what 'it' actually is but it's there... in SI, the contestants sing, yes with their heart and soul, but i juz dun feel 'it'...
for me, i think that olinda would have been a better singer... her vocal cords are definitely much more powerful than the cords of the two guys combined...
aiyah... actually i'm not so sure what i'm trying to express... i juz feel that the winner, whoever it is, won't last in this industry for long... even if they last, i'm not sure their fan base will...
i will be watching the final showdown on wednesday... although i won't get too excited about it..
by the way, i juz realise sth about the audience on the live telecast... none of them held posters or banners for gurmit singh... i think i rmb seeing some for ryan seacreast in AI... i noe, it's no big deal... it's not surprising either... i'm juz like.. so sad for gurmit..
well, all the best to sly and taufik...
